We
all know that washing our hair is important but many of
us are unsure if we're washing it correctly. Many of us feel like we’re either
washing our hair too much or not washing it enough. How often you should wash
your hair typically depends on the type of hair you have.
Fine Hair
Anyone
who has fine hair should wash it daily or nearly every day. Since fine hair typically
gets oily much faster than any other type of hair, shampooing every day is the
best thing you can for it.
Medium Hair
For those who have an in between hair texture it’s
best to only wash your hair 2-3 times a week. Shampooing your hair every few
days works best since this type of hair doesn't accumulate as much oil as finer
hair and it can’t hide oil like thicker hair can.
Thick Hair
Thick Hair
If you have thick hair remembering to wash it can
be the least of your concerns since you only need to wash your hair about once
a week. With thick hair oil buildup happens very rarely since it takes a while
for oil from the scalp to travel down thick hair strands.
Natural Hair
For
those with natural hair that hasn't been permed, dyed, relaxed or chemically
altered you might want to switch to the co-wash method instead of constantly
shampooing your hair. The co-wash method switches out your shampoo for
conditioner to help keep your hair clean without the dry out that constant
shampooing does to your hair.
