Sports and Hair Loss

Forty percent of men will experience hair loss by the age of 35. Embracing hair loss sounds easy, but to some it isn’t. Some men will go to great lengths to revive, hide and disguise their thinning hairlines. Men who play sports run the risk of thinning hair because of sweat, hats and helmets. Here are some things to keep in mind when head wear is involved in the sport you play:

Sweat
We all know that most people sweat when playing sports. Sweat can have a direct link to hair loss. Though sweating is a healthy mechanism to remove toxins from the body, an excess of sweat can be harmful to the hair and scalp. When lactic acid mixes with keratin in the hair it can lead to damage and hair loss.

Hats & Helmets
Hats and helmets don’t directly influence hair loss, but if a hat or helmet is fitted too tight it can cut off circulation to hair follicles. If your hat or helmet is pulling at your hair when you remove it you might be at risk for gradual thinning of hair. Most men enjoy wearing hats specifically to cover up their already thinning hair or protect themselves from the sun.

If these things could be leading you to thinning hair, before you go pick up an over the counter, New England Associates can provide you with multiple proven hair solutions that will keep your hair and scalp healthy. Including our easy to use line of HairStart™ products!

Hair Restoration
Chris was an avid golfer and enjoyed being outdoors a lot. When he started losing his hair, like most guys he was “very self-conscious and wanted to do something to improve his situation.” Being someone that loved sports, a full head of hair was important to him. Chris tried laser hair therapy since shaving his head wasn’t an option. The laser hair therapy stimulated his hair growth and gave him his confidence back.

Laser hair therapy is just one of the many options that NEA provides for its clients. If you want to get ahead of the game, contact us for your first free hair and scalp examination. We’ll examine how significant your hair loss is and come up with solution best for YOU.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Caused Pam to Lose Her Hair

Most would agree that losing their hair is like losing a piece of themselves. A woman’s hair and confidence can be closely related. We do everything we can to keep our hair healthy, thick, and luscious but what happens when you involuntarily lose it?

Pam began losing her hair because of polycystic ovarian syndrome. Polycystic ovarian syndrome causes hormones to become imbalanced. It increases testosterone levels to the point where too many adrogens (male hormones) are produced. When hair follicles are adrogen-sensitive, a decrease in the growth of hair on the scalp will take place.

Like most women would feel, Pam wasn’t comfortable in her own skin. She felt like she was constantly being stared at. When Pam found her hair loss solution, her confidence was completely restored.

“Everyone’s reaction was really good…they couldn’t figure out what was different. I did not expect how much confidence I would regain from a state where I felt like I was bald and being stared at and people asking what’s wrong with me to people not even able to tell I had anything different. They just told me how good I looked!”

Women can often be stuck or scared when it comes to finding hair loss solutions for their thinning hair. New England Associates gives you every hair restoration option, and can suggest treatment plans based on your specific condition, while the choice remains yours.

Reclaim your hair and “make the best investment you will ever make in yourself” like Pam did. New England Associates wants to help make you the best version of yourself. Call today for a free hair and scalp examination to find out what procedures are best for you!

Embracing Your Beauty

Hair is something that all women have struggled with at one point. We can’t decide whether to curl it, straighten it, throw it up, or just go natural. Our hair is our personal statement that connects us to our identities. So, what happens when you lose it?

Kate Ambrosi, 26, was a lawyer celebrating a recent move to New York City and her first wedding anniversary when her life was interrupted by breast cancer. Most women never have to think about losing their hair. We tend to assume our hair will always remain a part of us. But when faced with an unexpected health diagnosis, women must learn how to cope with the loss of an ingredient of their uniqueness.

"I tried hard to prepare myself for this, but it was especially difficult because only a month before I had lost both my breasts and already felt like a 'freak.' Damaged, and defective, now this was going to be one more physical sign of cancer, that everyone else would notice." -Debbie, LA

Women are often tasked with the responsibility to be “beautiful.” But when you lose one of the things that makes you feel beautiful, then it’s time to start redefining your recipe of what beauty is. Experiment. Take control of the life you want to live by learning how to feel comfortable in your own skin again. Reinvent yourself. Branch out try new things, new styles, new colors. Find what suits you and go from there.

“What makes you feel beautiful isn’t something that other people define for you.”-Elly Mayday

Tis the season of boundary pushing possibilities and decorative impulses with conviction-while its beautiful to go bare, it’s beautiful to have options.

Regrow your hair and restore your confidence. New England Associates allows women to redefine themselves by providing our clients with the latest breakthroughs in hair restoration solutions and help many women struggling with hair loss to Look As Good As They Feel™ again. What to Expect During Your Hair Loss Consultation

New England Associates® offers a free hair and scalp analysis for clients interested in finding a solution for their hair loss. The confidential analysis is designed to pair the right treatment with your type of hair loss to optimize success.

At New England Associates®, we believe that each person has unique hair loss concerns, needs and expectations. The no-obligation consultation is the first, and most important, step in your hair loss assessment. Our consultations are in-depth and tailored to your hair loss needs. We understand that hair loss is a sensitive and personal issue therefore all of our consultations are private and confidential.

During your consultation, you will meet with your physician and a highly experienced medical advisor. They will answer your hair loss questions as well as go over the most current hair loss information and treatment alternatives. They will then examine your hair and scalp condition with a microscope. This helps evaluate your specific hair loss and your potential for hair loss in the future. Based on your evaluation and individual needs, a treatment plan will be outlined regarding medical, non-medical and surgical options.

At this time, you will also have the opportunity to meet with actual hair transplant patients in the various stages of their procedures. Although before and after pictures are helpful, we believe that seeing the actual results and artistry behind each unique transplant in person is important.

To learn more about your hair loss options and to find a treatment matched specifically to your needs, call New England Associates® today at 1-866-424-7782!

HairStart® Dexpan™ Scalp Preparation

HairStart® DexPan™ helps to dissolve sebum that may clog hair follicles and prevent hair growth. Sebum is an oily secretion from the sebaceous glands that are attached to hair follicles. The purpose of sebum is to lubricate the hair shaft; however, the sebum glands can clog your hair roots and cause excessive hair loss as well as dandruff.

HairStart® DexPan™ can combat this threat to your hair. This product acts as a cleanser of the scalp and hair follicles and has been designed to treat excess oil secretion of the sebaceous glands.
HairStart® DexPan™ contains a strong concentration of B vitamins, particularly B5, which is essential for healthy looking hair. Vitamin B5 supports the adrenal glands, which stimulates hair growth. This product is also clinically proven to increase the permeability of the outer layer of the skin, which facilitates the exchange of gases, nutrients and liquids across the scalp and down to the hair follicle. This aids in halting hair loss and re-growing hair.

HairStart® DexPan™ is easy to use. You just apply the product to your hair and scalp each day before you shampoo. HairStart® DexPan™ is offered in a convenient 90-day supply.
If you are experiencing hair loss or thinning, your best bet is to call the professionals at New England Associates®. With their free hair and scalp analysis, they will be able to provide the best treatment and HairStart® options for you. Call New England Associates® today at 1-866-424-7782!

FAQ’s and Answers About Laser Hair Therapy

New England Associates® offers many different solutions for hair loss. One of the most popular hair loss treatments is our HairStart® Laser Hair Therapy, a non-surgical option for hair loss. It is important to know all the answers to your questions before seeking treatment. Below are some frequently asked questions and answers about laser hair therapy.

Q. How does laser work?
A. Therapeutic pure red light stimulates blood supply to the hair bulb and scalp, increasing the number of red blood cells that deliver vital oxygen and nutrients. This "red light" is actually not hot, rather it is known as a "cool" laser. The result is a restorative and reparative chain reaction that clears debris from the hair shafts, swells the cortex, and closes the cuticle leading to a healthier scalp and hair that looks and feels softer, thicker, shinier, and is more easily managed. Used in conjunction with our exclusive line of HairStart® hair and scalp products, laser light therapy may deliver even more benefits.

Q. Is laser hair therapy safe?
A. Yes. The lasers available at New England Associates® are non-surgical, cold-beam lasers. The FDA states these lasers comply with all the required safety requirements. Cold-beam laser technology has been used internationally in hair clinics for many years. The power level is so low that it is virtually a vibration which is harmless yet effective.

Q. What are the benefits?
A. There are several:

· May increase blood supply to scalp by 54% after one treatment

· Can slow or stop excessive hair loss

· Stimulates hair follicle

· Repairs and improves hair shaft quality

· Relieves irritating scalp conditions

What’s the Deal with Gray Hair?

According to a 2005 review article in The Journal of Investigative Dermatology reported that Caucasians start to go gray in their mid-30s, on average, Asians in their late-30s, and Africans in their mid-40s. Gray hair is rumored to be caused by stress but it is more attributed to aging and heredity.

As hair follicles age it affects the amount of catalase. Catalase is important because it breaks down hydrogen peroxide in the hair follicle. Hydrogen peroxide is what makes the hair turn grey, and without catalase to break it down it takes over the color of your hair.

Scientist have also discovered that some men and women are born with an inherited tendency to go gray before their time. Therefore, we see people in their 20’s with full heads of gray hair. Actors such as George Clooney, Richard Gere and Gary Lineker all went gray very early on.

The only thing worse than gray hair is no hair! At New England Associates®, we are committed to helping each client grow the hair of their dreams! From surgical to non-surgical, we offer all the procedures that will help you Look As Good As You Feel!™
